Next, read 13.1 and answer questions #6, 7 & 8 on page 410. Turn in by end of class. Then, after a brief lecturette on 13.1, Marching Toward War, you will complete the chart below. (due Friday). Finally, begin creating a poster "The Road to War" (document attached below) that will be due on Tuesday.

READ: Chapter 8.2 Europe Faces Revolution. DO: #3-8 on page 257. Keep in mind, the Nationalistic revolutions in Europe occur just after the fall of the French Empire (under Napoleon). After years of war, now the people face revolutions. Don't they get tired of all this fighting? What do you think motivated such nationalistic feeling at this time in history? READ: Ch 8.1 DO: create a 3 slide (minimum) Keynote on the iPad. Choose a person/group of persons, OR an event, OR a battle. (Other choices possible. See me with your ideas.) Slide one: Basic and significant info on your chosen topic (person, place, event, battle, war)? eg: Simon Bolivar, Peninsulares, Lima, Gran Columbia Slide two: What role did your topic play in South America? HW: read 7.1 and either: Option 1) write a news article for a French newspaper about what has happened recently (events covered in 7.1) OR Option 2) create a poster showing your understanding of conditions in France during this time period (may be a collage, hand drawn in color or in b/w ink/pencil). TUESDAY will be a day to work on your World Timeline "What's Happening in the World Today" projects. Bring materials you need to conduct your research. Class i Focus on the years covered during the French Revolution, as specified in Chapter 7 of your text. What was happening in other regions of the world (you drew numbers to select your region).
