Kennings are two-word descriptive phrases that, like pronouns, replace a noun. Our first evidence of them is in Beowulf, but the tradition persists into the modern day (sky scraper, couch potato, etc.). On the attached worksheet, you will write the kenning that best fits the description. Due as a self-graded, in-class assignment, worth 10 pts. Absent students should fill the sheet in and bring to class upon return.
